Coral is a New York City-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive clinical experience as a therapist working with adults and young adults.
Using a combination of methods, Coral helps individuals to become more self-aware, resolve past conflicts and move forward in their lives to achieve healing and lasting well-being. The methods they use include:
Psychodynamic Therapy – a therapy that increases self awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on current behavior.
Three Pillars Therapy and Ideal Parent Figure (IPF) Imagery – recently, Coral has come to appreciate the importance of working on the attachment style, and has been under the supervision of Dr. Zack Bein for many months. They also participate in his Three Pillar’s Case Consultation and Supervision Group. They hope to continue to refine their skills to be able to give this modality to as many people who need it.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) – a powerful therapy that is proven to be effective in the treatment of trauma. Through this approach, clients reprocess trauma and can recollect experiences in a new and less distressing way. EMDR is also highly effective in treating other conditions including panic disorders, addictions, phobias, performance anxiety and stress. Coral is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an EMDRIA consultant and approved consultant for the Parnell Institute.
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) – a body-awareness approach to trauma, based on the understanding that human beings have an innate ability to overcome the effects of trauma. Having completed the 3-year Somatic Experiencing training, Coral has obtained a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) certificate and is a faculty assistant for SE trainings.
Hypnotherapy – A guided mind-body intervention that creates access to unconscious healing processes. Coral is certified in clinical hypnosis.
Special Populations – Coral’s practice is LGBTQIA+, friendly. They embrace all clients who are defining their relationship orientation, gender or sexuality outside of historically traditional societal norms.
