Dr. Zack will lecture on zoom to whomever wishes to join! The topic? The importance of having secure attachment with a healthy balance of both connection and exploration. But how does secure attachment start? What does it look like in our children? How can we cultivate that in them? What are the qualities of parenting that are deleterious in the development of secure attachment? Topics included: Cultural anthropology, clinical psychology, history, biological bases for attachment, the securely attached kitten, attachment in infancy, adult attachment, assessment of attachment strategies, attachment treatments, what it means to you, current research. I trained with Dr Bein in the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol and found the experience quite edifying. I am a long time participant in counseling, I have even tried EMDR in the past…but this approach has been life changing for me. Granted you get back what you put in, as with really any type. BUT Zack and team are really great and knowledgeable. I wish I found this sooner.
